The great (if controversial) Emerald Robinson has a sub-Substack entitled “Christian Nation,” for which I write regularly. Today (August 5, 2026), they ran my piece breaking down the latest Trump Administration counter-terrorism emphases in light of the prevalent ideologies of the groups on the current State Department’s Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list. The piece is “Right- Wingers and Christians Aren’t Terrorist Threats.” The most dangerous terrorists are, in ascending order: Leftists, Drug Cartels, and of course Islamic jihadists. There are NO right-wing, Christian, or “white supremacist” terrorist organizations worth worrying about.

FYI, the title of this blogpost comes from the Simpsons episode “Sideshow Bob Roberts” (one of that show’s best ever), wherein the Rush Limbaugh character, Birch Barlow, touts his latest book Only Turkeys Have Left Wings.
